Clearview LateHarv Chard 375ml:
A sweet and sumptuous dessert wine with apricot and mandarin aromas. Finished by complex nutty flavours, derived from extended barrel maturation. This wine is made in vintages where our grapes do not contract sufficient Noble Rot to produce our botrytised Chardonnay. In waiting for the brix levels to rise, 40% of the crop was lost due to shrivel and bird peck, hence only two barriques was produced.
WINEMAKING NOTES:
The Chardonnay was late harvested by hand and whole bunch pressed. The clear juice was fermented in seasoned French oak barriques and stopped early to leave natural residual sugar. The wine was then matured in the same seasoned barriques for 18 months
This is the classic Clearview meal finisher. A fortified red wine style pioneered by Tim Turvey some 17 years ago. A red dessert wine with a weighty palate oily with dense berry fruits and plum; followed by an unctuous rich but dry finish
A lush and decadent wine exhibiting a synergy of citrus and stone fruit flavours. Attractive oak and creamy honey undertones combined with well balanced acidity gives a beautiful lingering finish.
De Bortoli have set the standard with Noble One and here's its "little brother". Classic botrytis characters of dried apricots and marmalade are supported by a touch of vanillin oak in this excellent dessert wine. From the Riverina.
Tasting Notes:
Color Beautiful amber color.
Taste: Amontillado sherry Elegant has very mild, slightly sweet flavor, which intertwine tones of nuts and raisins. Long pleasant finish fascinates toasted caramel notes.
Aroma : Has a clean nutty flavor with a hint of wood and cocoa.
Sometimes we leave the fruit on the vines and let it ripen and over ripen and sometimes we get just the right conditions and just the right mould and then we make teeny tiny quantities of tart honeyed gold. Sometimes.
Winemakers notes
Delicate aromas of ripe stone fruits, honey and subtle hints of its Sauvignon Blanc heritage are echoed on the palate with flavours of apricots, mandarin, candied tropical fruits and honey in this golden hued late harvest sweetie. Rich and viscous the great acid balance keeps this wine from being cloying.
Aromatic and fresh as a reflection of the great vineyard, good viticulture and gentle handling of the fruit. It has aromas of lemon and lime citrus, with mineral elements and stone fruit on the finish. It was made in a sweet luscious style to perfectly balance the acidity. The aromatics on the palate linger and are in harmony with the clean refreshing finish.
Moscatel De Setubal: This wine is aged for a minimum of 3 years in oak casks. The length and nature of the aging process produces a topaz-coloured generous wine with intense aromas of muscatel orange blossom tea and raisins possessing a smooth sweet and fresh taste. To be drunk chilled as an aperitif or as a dessert wine.
Colour: Attractive mid straw colour, with gold tints and excellent clarity. Nose: An enticing bouquet of honeysuckle, ripe summer fruits, apricot, nectarine with a hint of papaya. Palate: Round and supple, with concentrated exotic fruit flavours. Luscious sweetness is balanced by fresh acidity from the Riesling, and the smooth finish has exceptional length.
A rich, honeyed aroma that melds apricot kernel and Golden Queen peaches with a slight whiff of fresh bees wax. The palate is instantly sweet and viscous with a silky mouthfeel and vivid acid edges that negate any sense of cloying as well as ensuring a refreshingly long, dry finish.
