Church Road Tom Chardonnay 750ml

This is a complex, powerful Chardonnay built around a core of opulent fruit suggestive of peach, ripe apple, fragrant citrus and a fig-like richness.Woven through this are notes of roasted hazelnut, nougat and toasted brioche, along with a wisp of woodsmoke and struck flint, combining to bring a serious savoury element to the wine.Texturally, the wine leads with a seductive fruit richness but as it progresses across the palate the structure becomes more apparent with finely balanced acidity, a slate like mineral feel and a savoury/umami-like effect apparent on the finish.The overall impression is one of power and great depth, drawn out across a framework which provides exceptional linearity and persistence.
