Old gold amber colour. A nose that is rich with woody notes, spice, liquorice, orange peel and dried fig. The mouth has a tamed aromatic strength with a touch of hazelnut, walnut, cedar wood then candied fruits. A great length characterises this XO.
Camus XO Elegance Cognac 1000ml:
Creating CAMUS XO Elegance requires years of meticulous work. The process starts with the careful selection of different styles of hugely rich eaux-de-vie from all six of the Cognac crus (Borderies, Petite Champagne, Bons Bois, Grande Champagne, Fins Bois, Bois a Terroirs).
The presence of the Borderies cru among these eaux-de-vie gives the Cognac a rounder flavor and greater aromatic length. Long aging in cool, damp cellars ensures that each barrel gains a perfect level of maturity. A meticulous blending process finally reveals the Cognac's personality in all its glory: a myriad of complex, harmonious aromas.
Best enjoyed in a tulip glass, either straight or mixed with a dash of mineral water. A serving temperature of 17-20oC is recommended to fully appreciate XO Elegance.
The original 'extra-old' cognac, first bottled in 1870 by Maurice Hennessy for family and friends. Darker and much more complex than the VSOP, with appealing leather and tobacco notes and a touch of spice - a great cigar cognac.
Meukow XO Grande Champagne is an exclusive blend of Grande Champagne, grown in the vineyards of Cognac. Meukow XO Grand Champagne is an extremely well balanced Cognac. A treasure filled with harmonious and aromatic persistence, a pleasurable delight to palates of exquisite taste especially when garnished with a fine cigar or a morsel of rich milk chocolate. The billowing aromas emitted are complex, light and elegant. Thanks to the distillation on fine lees, enhanced vanilla, cacao and candied fruits (pear, orange, and apricot notes). The roundness is entrenched from the beginning of the steeping process as it is aged gracefully in small oak wood casks, complimenting leather, tobacco and liquorice touch.
Otard Cognac one of the most important Cognac producers. Here comes a slightly sharp but complex VSOP Cognac.
The Otard VSOP Fine Champagne consists of eaux-de-vie of the Grande and Petite Champagne - the combination is known as Fine Champagne. The blend consists of at least 50% of the Grande Champagne zone.
The tasting notes of the Otard VSOP Fine Champagne are:
The color: golden
On the nose: floral notes, tobacco, spices and slight vanilla, that returns 'dans la bouche'
The taste: not as agressive as the nose, vanilla still present. Pretty complex for a VSOP.
The finisher: the taste is long and balanced, low notes of spice and vanilla are present
The areas: Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne.
The age: At least 8 year old eaux-de-vie, blended with maximum 10 year old
Xo Cognac (700ml):
The opulent and elegant Cognac must by law be double-distilled in copper pot stills then aged in barrels. This XO is aged for up to 35 years, with the Ugni Blanc grapes taken only from the two best crus. Graced with a floral bouquet and the delicate hint of Limousin oak.
