Edradour's Ballechin 10YO Single Malt Whisky 700ml

Ballechin is the name Edradour gives its heavily peated spirit, and this release is their new standard expression bottled after 10 years of maturation. The peat character of this is remarkably Islay-like, with a rich earthy smoke, ginger spice, and amazingly even a hint of coastal, farmyard aromas. A welcome addition to the growing range of heavily peated whiskies from the mainland of Scotland. ABV: 46% Distilled using barley which has been infused with peat to a level not less than 50ppm. This bottling is predominantly from ex Bourbon casks with a generous top dressing of ex Oloroso Sherry casks, to create added depth and greater complexity. It has been bottled at 46%, without chillfiltration, to retain the true cask character. The name Ballechin originates from a fellow Perthshire farm distillery, which sadly closed its doors in 1927. There, Alfred Barnard, who catalogued all the distilleries in the UK in the 1880?s, made reference to having experienced a peated whisky. Tasting Notes: Nose: Herbal and grassy with sweetened smoke Palate: Chocolate oak over spicy, earthy smokiness. Complexity rolls over the tongue. Finish: Smouldering burnt heather on Highland hills Vol:700ml ABV: 46%

Baker's 7YO 53.5% Bourbon 750ml

As the name suggests only produced in small quantities, by tradition up to only twenty barrels at the most. The Small Batch Bourbon Collection represents the very best in bourbon, each handcrafted in limited quantities using time-honoured recipes. These special recipes allow each Small Batch Bourbon to be distinctively different. As Booker Noe, Jim Beam's grandson and master distiller emeritus says: "This is bourbon the way it used to be, the way it was meant to be." This range includes Basil Hayden, Bookers and Knob Creek Sipping History: Named after Baker Beam, grand nephew of the legendary Jim Beam, Baker's(R) Bourbon is seven-years-old and hand-bottled at 107 proof. Baker's Bourbon is made with a Beam family recipe preferred by Baker Beam, who has been making bourbon for more than 20 years. The recipe represents six generations of the family's distilling skill to produce ultra-premium bourbons of rare distinction. Baker's Bourbon is a remarkably smooth bourbon. Intensely flavourful, full-bodied and ideally balanced, it is preferred by Cognac aficionados.
